As the start of the ski season fast approaches (3 DAYS!!! :D ) i figured this would be an appropriate topic and question.
so, who's going to enjoy the snow this year? and where are your favourite places?
i'll be there, 2nd week of the school hollidays (NSW)!!! going to perisher (among other places)!!! ;) :D

It's the mail reason we bought Omaroo :)
Cooma isn't far from any of the resort areas - Thredbo, Perisher, Guthega or Selwyn.
Last year at our place:

Broonsky - we have a bunch from LROC Sydney coming down this long weekend. We could probably host an AULRO trip down there mid-winter this year. Stick a fire on.... muld wine....good food.....ahhhh! Use it as a base and people could go skiing from there. We are about 45 minutes from Jindabyne, so it's not that far to go back and forth for a couple of days.
We don't have any accomodation on the place other than our little caravan - and we bags that! A good tent or camper van and all's sorted.

:) You see... that's why I wouldn't want to live in QLD - because apart from damp and dry seasons - that's all you get. You poor guys are missing and entire seasonal "dimension". The snow season doesn't just "occur" all of a sudden - it takes months to come on slowly, so you have all the time in the world to get used to the weather cooling and have time to prepare clothing and heaters, and fire wood stacks, and muld wine, and skis, and snow chains, and all the other great stuff we get to fool with. Besides that - snow on your place is a beautiful sight.
I couldn't imagine being warm all the time. How boring!
