Hi everyone,
recently I’ve been spending a lot of time trying to get my deceased fathers 1998 P38 4.6 back on the road. It’s been parked in the garage for the last few years after the air suspension died. I managed to have it reset and it was working well, but would sometimes randomly go into off road height. I rebuilt the valve block, and again it worked well for a few days, did the same random height changes until it triggered a hard fault and was on the stops. I then put Schroder valves on each corner line and have been driving like that for a while.
i tried to get EASUnlock working, but all I could get was 28 and 80 in the RX field and it would never sync. I tried all the solutions via google, and then gave up, deciding it was my laptop. I’ve now used my desktop and got the same result. I then went back to the laptop, and whilst the 28 and 80 were streaming, I unplugged the delay relay and replugged it and finally got FF and a “Good Idle”. Fault read shows FR sensor not working. When I try to get the height values, it instantly loses sync and goes back to 28/80 and the only way I get it to resync is by unplugging/plugging in the delay relay.
i can’t seem to reset it with EAS unlock, but I do have a EAS kicker Lite that will reset it, but the fault comes back with a hard fault after I try and operate it.
does anyone have any advice or expertise on the way forward?
ive cleaned all connections, there are no leaks when it’s pumped up with schrader valves.
is it simply a new front right sensor required? That doesn’t explain the losing sync though with EASunlock every time the system operates a power cycle...
thanks in advance....starting to tear my hair out!
