Hi guys, the piece of exterior trim running across the passenger side of the windscreen from the bonnet up to the roof has lost some of the white clips.
When driving on the highway and with large trucks, the buffeting seems to get under the trim causing it to pop up.
Some of the white clips are brittle and broken with a few missing.
Does anyone know a part number or where to source them?
Cheers

The Trim Clip Guide attached was posted on this site a few years ago. I can't give it proper accreditation but "they know who they are"!

CheersWhen you get the clips, before you refit the 'A' pillar trim check that the clip locations on the 'A' pillar are flush as they can bow out from removal of the trim. Just tap them flat using a small piece of wood and hammer, this will ensure a good seal against the windscreen and no wind noise. Nick

Timely post for me this as the left hand cover did that a couple of times up until about a week ago. Cook got a a bruised arm trying to stop if flying away after a truck going in the opp. direction caused it to come undone yet again.
I took it off and found 3 clips broken so repositioned those that are left and siliconed the foam stuff at the bottom and run a length of electricians tape down the screen to stop the air going under the cover. It’s worked so far and I’ll get extra clips when we get back home. I suspect the clips were broken when a new screen was fitted...... the way the fitters ripped stuff off without any care was horrid to watch. 🙁

I keep a set in the glovebox. Learnt the hard way after I had a windscreen replaced up here. Windscreen place replaced the broken lost clips with generic rubbish from Supercrap Auto - they lasted until next time I was at highway speed on the way down to Perth.

A big pia when the installers lie about using gen clips..as I found out. Mine has some glue/sealant on it now after flying off a week later. Installer had gone on Covid leave by then..so Sika gun came out with a fine line of goo on inside of trim to prevent lifting. 3 months later..all good. I figure it will come off if needed...or I'll get new trims as one of the tabs is busted off anyway.

I tried to buy some D4 A-Pillar clips recently and was told LR026343 (4x yellow & 1x White) was superseded by LR077843 (5x identical grey clips). Has anyone else found this and successfully fitted them, they look a bit different to the old ones.
Cheers

I have a few spare in my glove box now after finding the same on my Left hand side windscreen trim on both of my D3s. Only ever at 110kmh on a windy day and B doubles or bigger coming the other way at the same speed. After it happened the first time it just keeps occurring until new clips added. I did add a drop of silicone to one as a temporary fix. It failed often and was replaced as soon as I could.
Scared the crap out of me each time it popped.

Yes to both (see my post #3 in this thread). Have had them on for a few months now - no issues. Replaced incorrect clips fitted when windscreen fitted by previous owner which used to have the trim humming in a crosswind at highway speeds.

Thanks David. Sorry don’t know how I missed your original post #3, still nice to know the new clips fit and work well.
I haven’t seen the underside of the A-pillar trim, any thoughts on 1. why the old clip set had one white different clip? (I guess you may not know this if the previous owner had the wrong clips on) and 2. why the new clips have the protrusion on the top?
Cheers

No worries Dean - sorry, I didn't mean that post to sound harsh. I did wonder about that but couldn't really understand why the different clip in the set... The white one is shorter than the yellow ones and I think (only by looking) that the grey ones in the new kit are about the same length as the white one. I think I kept the clips I removed and maybe some were re-used rather than replaced with incorrect non LR clips. I'll see if I can dig them out to shed some light...
Now that I'm thinking about it more perhaps the problem of the terrible harmonic vibration of the A-pillar trim may have been caused by re-using old clips.. I'll dig the old ones out if I have them.
Definitely good with the new type though- have used them for extended highway speeds and in crosswinds (when I used to have the problem) no issues whatsoever.

When I installed a Safari Snorkel on my D4 (Install of Safari Snorkel in D4 (https://www.aulro.com/afvb/l319-discovery-3-and-4-a/280264-install-safari-snorkel-d4.html)) I managed to damage a couple of the A Pillar clips but was able to get replacements from an outlet in Blackburn - CarParts Clips & Fasteners (https://www.carpartsclipsandfasteners.com.au/index.php/search-manufacturer-land-rover-c-67_81?osCsid=a6k9e5e6mn6oop8rpicklmiar0). All good... and I now have an assortment for spares. I also recently had the windscreen replaced by Windscreen O'Briens and was happy to see that they also carried the clips necessary to complete the task.

Had the drivers side trim pop out yesterday on the freeway. Found the below video guide showing replacement of trim:
Land Rover | A pillar and Cowl replacement, "banish that attack Kazoo" Whistling windscreen solved. - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtRNtwU0gOQ)
He metions that there are locating dowels at each end to help ensure the trim stays tight. Mine have snapped so will need to see how this impacts on the trim staying in place - anyone else notice the same when replacing? If it's critical I'll have to try glueing in a replacement piece.
Photo below shows intact vs broken top dowel.

Thanks, last thing you'd want is to re-fit then have wind noise.
The local windscreen shop have the old yellow clips - LR026343. Worth trying them or get the new grey ones (LR077843)?
