Hi,
I just purchased some new shocks for my 300Tdi to replace the old OME. I went for something cost effective, shall we say.
The lower bushes that shipped with it just don't look right, but was told they're good. Do these look okay, or do they need further tightening/compression? I've included a pic of the old next to the new too.
Thanks all.
Joshua.

.
They look like the bushes that fit a steering damper rather than a shock absorber.
I'd be speaking to the supplier and getting them changed.

Thanks Colin,
Yes, that's more likely looking at them. I had already questioned them and they said the parts were correct, which led me here. I'll dig a little deeper.

had the yellow plastic ones fall apart/crumble. Went with the original style from Repco in rubber. Been good since.

I used to use Nissan GU Patrol front ones on the lower side that take rebound forces, even the stock LR ones are inadequate.

toy 80 series front shock rubbers work a treat. fitted in 2013 in a long travel suspension heavy 130, multiple simpson crossings and thousands of kms on corrugated roads. they look new. need to cut the cups off the axle mount to fit them.

That is good advice! I didn't think to look at an alternative vehicle fit. After being fobbed off by the supplier, I was inclined to just fit the old bushes in place of these el-crappos.
I have to admit, the ride is better with the new hardware, but the bushes do not fill me with confidence.
