Well the saga may just be coming to an end.

All that is left is for the panel beater to wash it and vacuum out the broken glass and then I take it to the tyre shop and then to the pits. A miracle will see it inspected this afternoon but more likely I will take it in first thing tomorrow morning. They open at 715 I'll be there at 630 (that's 915 and 830 EST)

Please let it pass. The mechanic has had it yesterday to do a pre-pit check, degrease and pretty it up underneath.

It has been a long time mate. Good timing though as I am planning a trip (see http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showthread.php't=28051 ) so you could get it dirty again if you like. :)
