Not sure if this has been posted or not.

There's a new TV Show starting Friday night on Briz31. It will also be Australia wide I believe.

Apparently it's made from brissy too. They use a Defender on their flyer as well!!!
AND....you can download it as well after it airs.

Looks good. I like 4WDtv, but this looks like it'll be cover the broader spectrum of 4wding and associated things.
4WDtv is great, but I think they focus a bit too much on the comp scene and monster rigs at times. They should have a few more "daily drivers" that (without $50k of mods) can do the business on weekends as well as more trip/destination and general 4wding stuff.

Anyway here's the flyer. If it's sh*te don't blame me!

Now THAT looks like the show for me. Like you, I don't mind 4WDTV, but I'm very tired of the comp crap they keep going on with..... and if I see Simon hand out another ARB winch cable dampener prize I'll puke.

I've repeatedly written to Simon to include more real-world material, such as covering touring setups, camping tips and other day-to-day hints.

I'll be looking forward to it! Now I've just got to figure out how to bypass the digital set top box and go back to analogue temporarily ......

Yeah, my thoughts exactly.....

We've got cable and whatever else hooked up, so I watch it in the bedroom on a TV hooked up with the old internal antenna (rabbit ears)!!!
Do you get "Thommo's camping and whatever else show" down there."
It's a classic - I think they only made about 5 episodes - they rerun em all the time!!

Yeah I'll still watch 4x4 TV as I can never get my fill of 4 wheel driving, but it really is an ad for his videos more than anything.

The new ones APPEARS to have heaps of potential.

At least ANYTHING is better than the segments they do on the car show on Channel 9, where they say "Yeah this Toyota has its faults but when you really look at it you can't give it less than an 8 out of 10"

Good show actually.
Outlaw, the production qualities on this thing are much more professional than 4wdtv! believe it or not.

Hey guys... I met the producer of this on jury duty. He seemed like a nice fella. I missed the show but will try and catch them from now on. :)

Ok so I taped it and will watch it when I get a chance. Does the guy OWN a Defender Steve ? coz if he does then this show has the potential to upset a LOT of toyosan drivers. And that would be hilarious.

And secondly, did you send anyone to jail ?

Yeah well I missed the original so set the video up to tape the repeat whcih according to the program was supposed to be at 3pm today. Just went to watch it and it's taped something called "the muscle show". No it's not about real cars, but rather steroid abusing thickheads.

Not happy Jan, indeed.

No, he owns a Nissan. He's a bit of a patrol fan. I gather he also has one at ralye spec for those challenges. He was pretty cool about the fender though. He didn't seem like "yeah I'll go out and buy one", but he was respectfull of our choice.

He's a fellow Telstra worker, and he does all this in his spare time. TJM sell a video "Extreme challenge" or something like that. Apparently he didn't produce the last one, but he did the ones before the current one.

Oh yeah... we had a bouncer beats up patron type trial. Unfortunately it was all filmed on security camera. I am of course prevented by law from discussing anything about the Jury's deliberations, but I can tell you that the jury found the accused guilty. I believe the person did about 3 yeas in the slammer... 18 months if he's a good person.

doesn't look like it's on in sydney yet. been watching the program guide and no sign of it yet.
but if you want to see solid gold comedy, watch a program called "no limits".
it's scary!

I use Linux - so all I needed to do was use a program called "wget" which literally goes to the URL and grabs the file directly. I grabbed both of the episodes (which are only 20Mb or so each). I would put them up for download from my web server - but that would be breaching copyright. Being a software designer - I don't do that sort of thing.

# wget http://www.sitename.com/folder/filename.abc will just go ahead and grab the file "filename.abc" from that server.

You can get wget for windows too.

I think you need to register to be able to download.

The first ep is http://www.the4x4show.com.au/videos/episode1.wmv and you guessed it the second is http://www.the4x4show.com.au/videos/episode2.wmv my machine will allow to watch or download - usually downloads quickly as the screen is only small and the compressed quality is pretty low.

But what the hell - good show, cannot wait for it to arrive on TVS!!!

I like 4wdtv don't get me wrong, but there are few things about that are ordinary.

1. There is a bit too much "full on/hardcore/comp rig" stuff. I like seeing comp stuff and rock crawlers etc., but occassionally, not for the majority of the show - every week.

2. The very very very bad music!! Even a metal/grunge/hardcore fan would say that it is ****.:p Musically it's crap, talent wise its crap, timing, presentation and fitting in with the show its crap.

3. Simon needs a few presentation skills, and to change the tone and pitch of his voice occassionally.

Other than that it's a good show and I'll continue to watch it every week!:burnrubber:

i guess that's why it's on community TV. i definitely agree that simon needs to move on from the "ettingshausen school of tv voice over techniques".
having said that, i'd just like to give him a pat on the back for getting a show like this off the ground. an area that has failed so many times before. apart from a bit of "polish", i think they are doing pretty well.
