Got the disco back yesteday after spending the day at MR Auto's
It had a slight movement in one of the front uni's, the front diff pinion seal was leaking, I had also noticed a slight split in the A frame ball joint boot and with work and other commitments I was never going to get a chance to getting them done at home.
I also noticed last week a couple of spots of ATF on the drip tray from the front area of the motor:rolleyes:
As we are also doing an outback trip in August towing a camper I decided to get them to give the 300TDi a tweak or as Dwayne calls it the "Tickle Up" and a quick once over to make sure all would be ok for the trip, now I was mighty worried about the dent in my bank account when my parting words were if you find anything wrong just fix it:eek:
With a couple of calls from MR's to say they found this and that, it was with slight nervousness that I fronted to pick up the disco in the afternoon.
And I got to say that for a bit less than 1 gorilla I was pleasently suprised at the amount of work that was done and as MR's usual standard of excellent service.
The work contained the following
The Tickle Up, including tappet adjustment, injector clean fuel pump adjust egt checks ect.
replace front propshaft uni joint
replace front diff pinion seal
replace both auto trans cooler lines from box to cooler
replace lift pump as it was also discovered to be leaking
a full once over checking suspension, steering, drivetrain etc
and seeing as I hadn't driven it for about a month (wife drives it nearly every day though) when I got it back it felt like a new car, it is noticably quieter, smoother and much nicer to drive, it holds the gears better and doesn't shuffle gears as much and leaps off the mark like you wouldn't believe:cool:
I cant wait to get the trailer on the back to see the difference
Oh and I also got a free brass maxi drive plug for the radiator;) but dont tell em they forgot to add it to the list:p
