Here's a place to record your musical tastes or share your newest favourites with the rest of us.

For me, I have very wide musical tastes from Blues to Metal, and most things in between.

All time favourite band: The Doors (who needs drugs when you have music like this).

Close 2nd: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.

Also in my top 10: The Clash. Led Zeppelin, Midnight Oil, Pink Floyd, U2 (the older stuff), Bob Dylan, KISS, ALice Cooper.

Most under-rated Aussie Band: 'The Saints' - great brisbane punk band.

Best Aussie Surf band : 'The Atlantics' (I work with Jim Skiathitis' son).

Latest Discovery: 'The Killers'.

Okay i'm going to tip my hand and admit that i do enjoy good modern country rock... not the old country western style... has to be the newish stuff - tim mcgraw, alan jackson, mary chapin carpenter, brooks & dunn

Also love late 70's-80's rock & metal - kiss, led zepplin, ac/dc, posion, guns n roses, bon jovi, def leppard, meatloaf, candy harlots etc. and check out the new aussie band Wolf Mother

Love old and new rockabilly/punk/ska/neo-swing - stray cats, living end, cat empire, love dogs, cherry poppin daddies, mad caddies, atomic creepers - LOVE LOVE LOVE Royal Crown Revue & Brian Setzer,

Oh and a not-so-secret passion for classic rock-n-roll - elvis, gene vincent, jerry lee lewis etc. etc. etc.

Oh and latin salsa and dirty dancing stuff - orishas, thalia, ricky martin, shakira

Heaps more too but that'll do :D:D:p

Mmm, i've got a pretty wide taste in music. I'm a huge Living End fan and Fastball are pretty good as well. Don't mind a bit of dire straits, meatloaf and a few others either.

Interesting results so far. I have fairly wide tastes, mostly not including the noise that passes for much modern music. My favourite is probably Bach, but I also like most Beethoven, and a lot of Mozart. Gilbert & Sullivan, yes and much of the twentieth century musicals. Wagner, no, but some exceptions. Some Country and Western, some Folk music. Not keen on plainsong, but there are exceptions. Verdi, generally yes. Generally like orchestral or organ music, but I can like all instruments. Self taught player (not good) Button accordion, mouth organ, harmonium and psaltery.

Normal radio stations are Classic FM or ABC Local radio.

I have some weird and wonderful tastes.

Definately a favourite band is Queen. I studied them in my high school music classes from a intrumentalist's point of view and was amazed as to what went into their compositions. I bought the greatest hits album - liked all the songs, and found one their first albums and wondered what they would have been like in the earlier days. I liked all those songs too. So.... over 3 years I have every album released of theirs.

I also like: Ben Folds Five, Cat Empire, Billy Joel, The Whitlams, ACDC, No Doubt, Harry Connick Junior, The Beatles, Robbie Williams, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Weird Al Yankovic, The Living End, The Allan Parsons Project, Jamiroquai, Taxiride, Anastasia, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Presidents of the United States of America, Kiss, Green Day, and the list goes on....

I like music that has a melodical line - meaning that its not just a beat and some guy rapping over it. I look for great bass lines, complex harmonies, and sometimes just something a little bit different.

Having a Brass band, Stage band and orchestral background I also like all those styles associated.

  Yeah I reckon.

I hate both kinds of music too... Country AND Western.

If there was a type of music called "County" we'd probably like that, though.
