Gday All,
I am heading remote early next month and my only concern is i havent got around to the emergency air up kit and doubt i will before i go. I remember reading that you can pull suspension fuses to keep the car at normal height - assuming you havent punctured an air bag.

Can anyone confirm this for me and in what circumstances it works.

Thanks in Advance

Removing the 20A engine bay suspension fuse prevents any valve openings or compressor relay operation. Removing the passenger compartment 5A suspension fuse prevents the frequent annoying 50 kph messages that occur once the 20A fuse is removed. Don't bother removing the 5A engine bay suspension fuse as it is only a feedback to the suspension ecu for the compressor relay sending power to the compressor, which wont happen if the 20A fuse has been removed.

So worse case, get the car to normal height then pull the 20Afuse and it should stay at that height ?

Yes. If the compressor is weak and the vehicle doesn't get to normal height within the allowed time then the suspension will drop to the bump-stops but of the 20A fuse is pulled before the time expires then it can't drop. The fuse can be pulled without switching off but if not switched off then the suspension may drop before you get to the fuse, so best to switch off first but don't waste any time.

Thanks Graeme, i have a spare compressor so not stressed in that department, more as a fail safe back up.
Thanks again
