The door seal for the drivers door on our MY12 D4 TDV6 is getting a bit worn near the seat back. It would seem that the previous owner was either leaning against the B pillar when driving or sliding in and out the vehicle on it or something.

Looking at Microcat it shows:

Would that be right that the same seal is used left and right, front and back? Seems strange that they're not different sizes and the one side has that softer velour finish on it too.

This is the seal I'm seeking:

Hi.

Mine is a 2013 model.

I had these replaced twice under warranty on both sides. The dealer creatively described the problem to get it through under warranty. Seems to be regarded as a wear items like brake pads, LCAs etc.. They're made of soft rubber and wear accordingly. Never had this problem with any other car before. I would think that one being different to the other would be due to only one side having been replaced. Logic would dictate that the left side would be different to the right side given that each fits onto opposite sides of the car.

Logic isn’t a factor. Seal fits left and right. Part number is LR037755.

Recently replaced mine.

Well, you learn something every day :)

I looked at some more images from google and now see how that works. From other pictures and diagrams I had seen it looked as though it was a formed piece rather than a floppy piece that could fit either side.

BTW, where did you get yours from, mine need replacing yet again.

I got mine with another pack of stuff from Advanced Factors.

Rimmer bros is a good source as well.

They are not handed, just ensure you install with the join at 6 o'clock position otherwise its visible and looks rather ordinary. The seal comes fitted with a door glue that starts to go off as soon as you fit the seal, making repositioning an issue.
