Looking at off road van , nothing large , around 2t and this is the suspension set up on a van that i seen advertise local , just wondering what those more experienced with caravan suspension think of this set. Would be using the van on and off road , not necisarily extreme but would like the option to be able to go somewhere than not due to inadequate suspension. van is 17 ft

I cant see any benefit to that system over a regular setup that uses leaf springs and an axle. There are geometrical issues with it and I would expect that it isn't as strong a setup either.

If it were me I would remove the arms and just use a regular HD trailer axle for simplicity and reliability, so its not a deal breaker.

I agree with Slunnie, it's overly complicated for no real gain that I can see over a conventional set up. Potentially will give more trouble than conventional as well.

No dampers either . Relying on the friction within a leaf spring to control rebound forces etc is not really a good principle for offroad use...

You would be better of with dual axels on a 2t van, A single axel is pushing it for that sort of weight regardless of its configuration.[thumbsupbig]
