Finally got a new battery for the Daytona and went to start it after fitting, got a couple of pops but wouldn't run. Suspected that the fuel was stale so removed the tank to drain it out,I was surprised about the amount of gunk and water in the tank so I removed the pump and cleaned the tank out.
Some fresh fuel with a little injector cleaner and were running again.

Found similar in the CBR1000F recently - it hasn't been run for years, so I wasn't expecting the fuel to be any good (Which it wasn't) but I also found heaps of gunk I wasn't expecting in the tank. New fuel and it fired right up, but there was a leak in the carbs somewhere - after a fun job removing those, I have found an O ring on the fuel inlet tubes between the carbs dried out and leaking. I haven't got any further as my O ring kit hasn't got the right size in it and it's not exactly 'essential' so haven't ventured out to get any. Am only getting it running to sell and I can't do that either at the moment so no rush there.

That lot was about 4ltrs and nearly half was water and other crap, been out in the open with cover on but still surprised how much got.
Tank breather tubes were blocked solid which didn't help.

Had similar with my FZS1000 a while a go, a few pops at best but no start. Fuel had taken on a very turpy smell. Drained and flushed tank, fresh fuel and all good. Most annoying part is the 98 fuel was all of 3 weeks old [emoji849].
Now only run 95, told by a few of the mx guys 98 is by far the quickest ageing fuel.they were draining tanks/ carbs if sitting for more than a week or 2.
