Yes, I am - in Lego.

Got given the new Lego Defender kit for my birthday, so obviously I set out to build it - and got a shock at how large and complex it is, with thousands of pieces.

The build manual is 500 pages! [emoji15]

The build is divided into four sections.
Section 1 is the front suspension and transmission. It includes a working high-low range and a suspension with twin working shocks on each side.
It took about three hours and 81 pages of instructions to complete. That included having to backtrack to fix a problem caused by fitting a wrong sized cog, and then reassemble.

Only 419 pages to go!

Now started on stage 2, which is everything you see in the second pic below. I'm paranoid about losing a piece, so keeping them in packets for as long as possible.

At this rate I'm not sure I'll have this done before Christmas.

Here's a couple of pics.

Blows me how they can still call it Lego when the pieces are molded to a specific shape, its not like its made up of random sized blocks like i used to play with and build stuff from. When my dad first went overseas in 1976 he brought me back a technical Lego helicopter, that was made of of standard shaped blocks.

That 1st generation technical helicopter, complete and in a box is worth a pretty penny these days. Very collectable.

It’s not a defender without a snorkel [emoji12]
