D4 air pump

Hi all
Just after some advise. Our air pump just went on our D4 2016. I found some articles saying they were a recall as the Hitachi ones were to be replaced with the AMK type. The australian car reviews has it listed as a recall. Does anyone have any more information. If it was a recall ice like the dealership to fix.

2016 is very new to have died. Have you visually checked under the car the compressor has not been damaged?

Yours will be AMK not Hitachi I’m pretty sure. Hitachi became unavailable after the Tidal Wave knocked out the factory in Japan. AMK were subbed in.

Check first the relay ‘and’ main 60 amp large yellow fuse in the fuse box next to the battery. You can see if the fuse has blown by looking in the top window using a torch.

If fuse is good you can bridge with a heavy wire the relay big terminals to see if the compressor runs. You will hear it. Alternatively, remove compressor cover and put a test lamp on the big power supply plug. Start the car and the light should glow after 10-15 seconds.

Yeh its holding pressure at normal height but no up or down. Fuse not blown. I thought this was early to go. Im fairly sure its the hitachi though. ......

That’s same symptoms I had with blown fuse and dud relay. You’ve got dash warnings also?

Pump not running.

Days went by and it started to sag but didn’t drop to bump stops.
