Hi guys,

I'm pretty keen on getting the gap Bt iid Tool as I've seen an incredible amount of positive comments and reviews on here.

One thing I'm really interested in, is whether the gap Bt iid Tool will allow me to change the units on my trip computer of my 2006 Discovery 3. It currently displays range in miles and fuel burn in l/100km. I'd love to have it all set to metric if possible

Unfortunately, my discovery 3 is one of the ones which will not allow me to reset the service interval or access the menus from the dash, so will need a tool to do this. I have bought a Foxwell NT510 elite, and whilst it's pretty good for seeing the live data, I think I want something with a little more capability, as some things with the Foxwell don't fill me with confidence, and sometimes doesnt seem to work as planned (eg the service reset has now changed my service counter to OVERDUE by 99999 km. I'll also be calibrating my EAS, something I thought the Foxwell could do but doesn't seem to be able to.

I'm pretty certain the iid tool will properly reset my service interval, but am I able to change the units of my trip computer? Even better, will I be able to enable the "Menu" option in my trip computer?

If so, are the above abilities only possible when VIN locked, or are they possible on any iid tool?

It seems direct from GAP diagnostics is the cheapest and fastest way to obtain one, unless anyone has any top tips.

Thanks all for your time, and all helpful information on the forum.

Check the forum Marketplace, often there are GAP tools for sale. You can arrange a VIN change with GAP Diagnostics for a nominal fee.
