What is this hose for

On the SDV6 air cleaner top housing, towards the bottom rear corner is a 10mm diameter hose, it comes from the clean air side of the filter and it's shown on page 2482 of the version of the workshop manual I have, but there's no details about it, what it does, where it goes.
Can anyone tell me please.

I havnt looked yet Pete. But a quick guess would be to the vacuum pump for for brakes

Thanks Josh, finding things in the manual sometimes is an exercise in growing old and tracing them on the car is just about as bad. Really appreciate your time and quick response.

Yep, one of if not the main vacuum pump clean air supply line for the various vac systems: engine mounts, brakes, turbo control solenoids etc. Mine was cracked and would slip off the plastic nipple on the air filter. Replaced with a bit of new vac hose and larger adapter piece glued on with rubber adhesive (bike tube glue actually). No vac leaks or issues since.

Yeah, thanks Eric. Mine had dislodged as well, such a crucial system and just a tapered spigot and hose connection from the clean air side of the filter, ohhhh well, no damage done but a lesson learnt.
