Hi, New to the forum... I have just taken possession of my new project.. Haven't had a landy since I had a series 3 in the 90's. So the truck I have got is a 96 130 that has had a partial conversion. It has a 2.4 puma and 6 speed box installed, drive train only has 27,000 kms on it. I have the engine loom and the instrument dash. Things I am not sure on are:
1. Will I need a puma fuel level sender or will the tdi one work?
2. I am in the Gold coast hinterland so looking for someone that does conversion harnesses as it will need to integrate into the exisiting loom.
   a. I essentially run 2 looms.. 1 for the engine and ingnition and the other from the battery for the rest of the vehicle.
   b. Have the 2 looms wired together to work.
3. Will be looking for an old 300tdi scrap engine block. [wink11]
Thanks, look forward to hearing from you guys.

So I have found one guy who could possibly splice the loom but over 3k and couldn’t look it til jan-feb next year....
So my question.. can anyone see any possible issues with simply purchasing an entire puma loom from the uk and just replace the tdi wiring altogether?

I'd suggest that you would need the bit of the loom and the associated fuses and relays that sits under the drivers seat as well if you haven't got it. That would make the job easier.

Well since the rest of the vehicle (aside from engine and trans) is 'largely' the same that'd probably be an easier option.
My opinion only. No expert by any means.

to do it you'll need all the landy modules from a puma....
I think (and no quoting) that the early transit ECU is less dependant on the security modules than the rover version of the same but that might just be a software load thing.

Thanks.. I have the puma cut down engine loom, I have the ecu, remote, and all modules (it’s actually all wired into a starting box so the engine can run).. I’m going to try and run two looms.. one will be dash and engine.. the other will run off the battery controlling all lights and accessories. Fingers crossed I can get it all working.

I have a scrap 300tdi block in Ipswich, if you're still looking.
Cheers, Mick.
