Ok so a few questions

Q1. Who can recommend a good auto glass place on the north side of Brisbane?

Q2. I need to replace the glass in a rear and side window of the (long discontinued) metal ute canopy on my 130..

I am sure that glass is not available off the shelf to suit, but I'm not sure if its even possible to get suitable glass cut to shape, let alone economical?

Another option I've considered is changing the window cut outs to make it look better and also to fit something 'off the shelf' glass size wise. I figure that'd be cheaper to replace if there were further breakages down the line.

Suggestions / guidance welcome.

Q3. Has anyone replaced the rear glass (sliding window portion) on their Defender 130 with something a bit more conventional? i.e. a single pane of glass, eliminating the whole sliding window rattle issue.

Q4. What would be involved in replacing the rear window with one like the 2013 Triton had - with an electric portion?
As far as modifications to the cab to suit the moving window portion etc?

Just curious...

Some glass suppliers can cut glass to any shape required - make a cardboard pattern. A lot of them can get it toughed or made from laminated glass and can mark it with the required auto identifier.

I can't suggest anyone in particular, not being anywhere near you, but find one near you and have a talk to them - if they can't do it, they almost certainly will be able to suggest someone who can.

Places must be out there. I was at KLR Auto a couple of weeks ago when two Perentie windscreens (that they had made) were delivered,

If it's flat auto glass, any of the glass companies will do it. If you want to get rid of the rattles in the back window, replace the Bailey channel, and if you like the electric window thing, automate the slider that's there now. If it turns out well, I might copy it[smilebigeye]

Does anyone have a link to a video of how to replace that bailey channel / felt etc.?
