What year did LR cease using the SC V8?

I think I saw an metallic orange L494 marked as such?

375KW is hard to argue with...

You should have a look at SAMCRAC on youtube and see the videos on trying to replace the timing chains on one of these.
In the end he has sold it to a wrecker as he cannot get it to be fault free.

They still produce the RRS, Velar and FFRR with the SCV8 as far as I know but the base model is now 386KW (https://buildyour.landrover.com.au/lr2/r/engine/_/en_au/l494_k205/482ph-8?_ga=2.221012632.1204201785.1601007352-962108362.1601007352&_gac=1.57221720.1601007355.CjwKCAjwh7H7BRBBEiwAPXj adipwRNAlGHQbZkshEmpOzr8gqyky81TGEal_0U-utnBtfzAw5FQ5EhoCs1EQAvD_BwE&_gl=1*1t9eo3m*_gcl_aw*R0NMLjE2MDEwMDczNTIuQ2p3S0NB andoN0g3QlJCQkVpd0FQWGphZGlwd1JOQWxHSFFiWmtzaEVtcE 96cjhncXlreTgxVEdFYWxfMFUtdXRuQnRmekF3NUZRNUVob0Nz MUVRQXZEX0J3RQ..*_gcl_dc*R0NMLjE2MDEwMDczNTIuQ2p3S 0NBandoN0g3QlJCQkVpd0FQWGphZGlwd1JOQWxHSFFiWmtzaEV tcE96cjhncXlreTgxVEdFYWxfMFUtdXRuQnRmekF3NUZRNUVob 0NzMUVRQXZEX0J3RQ..) with the SVR at 423KW.

The 5.0 supercharged V8 is still in the current RRS - from the LR Aust website

Range Rover(R) Sport SVR - Land Rover(R) Australia (https://www.landrover.com.au/vehicles/range-rover-sport/svr/index.html)Look at 'Engines at a Glance"

0-100kph in 4.5secs - top speed 283kph, 423kw, 700nms

It was the D4 that dropped the 5.0V8 and went to a SCV6.

I've had a quick blatt in one recently... you will NEVER go back to anything less than 500hp after a drive, I warn you....

And they fixed the timing chain tensioners in 2012 (not that I'm looking) A very nice 2014 Autobiography with 65000KM went for $89990 in Sydney recently and an equally nice 2014 HSE with 52000KM went for $88990 in Adelaide (not that I'm looking)

And the SC 3l V6 is the V8 with 2 cylinders cut off. Some reckon the V6 is the better engine to drive...less brutal but equally smooth and fast enough for Aussie roads/laws😚

V8SC D4s are very rare..only seen one in Aus for sale..for 80k!

USA Jag owner adore these engines which are generally very reliable...main issues are SC coupler rattle/fail and crap Italian water pump and rear plastic discharge pipe o ring leaks...which could be a costly leak😐

Oh and there's the venerable gearbox rotary selector fail too..but of course in the litigeous USA these units have all been replaced by JLR free...not so in Aus.

A mate recently bought a jag with the SCV6, much better vehicle for that motor.

Not in the Jag they are not - in the jag the block is a V8 with only 6 pistons - the extra 2 cylinders are still there - certainly an odd arrangement - I guess to save money. Not sure what the heads are - V8 heads or shorter V6 heads.

JLR V6 and V8 engines produced at Ford Bridgend now ceased as the plant has closed. Looks like the end of the line for the AJ6 and 8...AJ126 etc. Shame.

Yes..as noted above the V6 shared the same block as the V8 but with smaller bores and shorter heads fitted. Rear 2 cylinders are blanked off.

Production of the V8 has been transferred to the JLR engine factory in Wolverhampton.

Seems that the V6 is finished though, you can't buy a new Jag with the V6, and there's the new inline 6 Ingenium in the Land Rovers, which I guess is too long to fit in the Jags.

Enjoy, I just replaced engine mounts on mine. I was getting a clunk from the front end on hard acceleration. Left engine mount was toast.
