Hi all,

My Nanocom i bought through a group buy on this site is not very old (just under 2.5 years old), and has had very little use. I don't usually use it for gauges and 99% of the time it was diagnostics only then packed away. I always leave the data cable attached to the unit and just plug it into the OBD2 port. The screen appears to have **** its breeches - it shows nothing. Makes the right noises on connection and is making the beeping sound when I touch the screen. Any ideas before I contact the vendor?

Cheers

Try powering it separately through the usb cable. Sometimes it doesn't get powered through the OBD port. My connection sequence is:
1. Connect to OBD port
2. Connect power to Nanocom
3. Turn on ignition

Make sure the card is not inserted into the Nanocom. You put it in after you have connected to the car if you need to.

It's a brilliant tool, even if you only use it to check to see if you have any error codes.

Thanks mate. I will give that a try although it has never had an issue before connecting to the OBD2 and it has power as the screen responds with the right noises to touching the screen...just nothing on there.

Ok tried to connect to the computer using a USB cable. As with the OBD2 connection it makes the correct connection noises, the screen flashes white briefly and then the screen flashes a few more times. Then the screen finally turns white again but no writing...and then it loses touch sensitivity.

OK after mucking around the screen works...will see if it works in the car.

Down load a fresh install of the latest software ver 1.35 open and select 'overwrite config'.Plug in the usb to PC....hopefully it will show connected, then let it load up.You will have to reinstall your unlock codes.
Good Luck.

Thanks Eddy. I also received a very nice email from Colin (BBS Guy) who suggested the same thing and noted if this didn't work he would arrange a return note. Great support. Thanks Colin. Cheers
