Hello,
Been a regular previously on this site but sold my 2012 D4 SE to help fund a home renovation so have been scarce for the past few years. I am now looking to get back into a late model D4 again.
Every-time I see one we get that pang of regret and I still reckon they look great. As much as I love the idea of the lighter and more powerful D5- it's looks have just not grown on me. I love the look of the new Defender but would not risk buying one of the early ones.
The very last of the D4's should have been leaving showrooms in late 2016 or maybe early 2017? Very hard to find an MY16 on car sales and looking at each dealer site doesn't turn much up either. Am I missing something?
Wish list- MY16- eDiff- HSE if available- Not black or any dark colour.
Am I dreaming?

Tilfords Hobart told me last month that our D4 petrol and D4s in general are in demand and used prices have risen . They had none in the yard and the salesp said they sold v quickly. I've seen ads eg on Slumtree of buyers wanting a low k D4 and price up to 70k🤤
When we were looking in Nov last year there were literally hundreds for sale across Aus. Covid has crimped new car supply hence used car sales have gone up a lot.
The D4 is also a great vehicle albeit the usual nay sayers will run it down..which is good for people like me..well it was last year...
Keep looking..one will turn up.

The other issue is, with the borders shut here and there, it restricts the vehicles you can look at.
I have had that issue with people wanting to look at mine, although i am negotiating with a Forum member at the moment, who will probably buy it unseen.
Good luck with your purchase.

4WD sales have gone through the roof here in WA and a lot of cars are getting shipped over from Victoria. A radio segment today had a buyer mentioning that 2-3 year old cars in good condition are getting up to close new car prices because the wait on new cars is getting quite long. WA people want to travel now and has lifted the 2nd hand market to crazy prices. Could be contributing to the lack of availability over your way.

Possibly - on Carsales the late model Discoveries aren't listed as D4s, they're Discovery - Series 4. So you have to choose Land Rover, Discovery, Series 4.
If you choose Land Rover - Discovery 4 you'll only get them up until 2014 when Land Rover's nomenclature changed.
There are always a few MY16s listed, some with around 30,000 kms.
