From that description it's not a TD5 but a 300TDi, also it's the new 4 speed model

I reckon it's definitely a TD5, as there is a big TD5 sticker onthe back door, but yeah - didn't notice the special 4 speed gearbox.

Definitely a Series II so it's a Td5.

It's not a statutory write off so I'd suggest around the $5000 mark.
It might even have a reserve but you won't find out until the bidding happens.

The TD5 ONLY came with a 4speed auto or a 5 speed manual didnt they. The one in the picture is a Disco2 TD5.
BUT you want to make sure the picture shown is the vehicle described.
Pickles in Perth had a burnt Freelander(by discription) but the pictures were of a burnt Disco.
$5000 would be a good price, fairly low ks so you would make money on wrecking it,I would say too expensive to repair, not alot of straight panels left.

I reckon between 3-5k, i definitely wouldnt go over 5k. I would be ringing around the wreckers to see what the parts that are still good on that vehicle go for that would give you some indication of how much money you would make if you bought it for a set amount. Its definitely a TD5 and my guess is they either meant 4 speed auto or its a typo and they meant 5 speed manual. Matt

Hey, I'm not proud, I'll drive it as is, just need the Drizabone occasionally.:p

The description does say AUTOMATIC
The motor would have to be worth $5000,another $2000 for the gearbox/transfer,then the rest of the major bits and other stuff.
If you are good with tools it culd be a good little earner.

Hey Andy...
I was about to say if you buy it... I'll put my hand up for the snorkel if your wrecking it...
But some bugger has already swiped that... and the guard :eek:
You are right though.... if you could get it under $5 there has to be a reasonable $$$ in it...

$5K is too high for me. I was thinking of stripping the body and just using the running gear for a paddock basher.
We've got a rally track in the front paddock for a little fun on the weekends!
A set of roll bars and it would be an excellent track vehicle. Pretty light too without all the body work/rear seats/ etc.

Definately a TD5, I'm amazed the airbags didn't deploy in the rollover
A TD5 in my seriesIII would be interesting if it would fit

Does anyone know or is there any way of finding out what this went for?

Does anyone know or is there any way of finding out what this went for?Without pre-registering for bidding/looking or being present on the day, there's no 'free' way of finding out. You can buy the info from Pickles under "Prices people pay'.

If a brand new TD5 is $17,000 fitted as some on here have said it is the motor alone would have to be worth ever bit of $5K or more wouldn't it?

With the new motor, you get a guarantee.
With a wreck, you take your chances.
If it's a roll over wreck, the engine could have some serious damage that you won't know about until you start it up. Just ask LRHybrid about that:( .

Second hand td5 engines are regularly available through wreckers for $3.5 - $4K
