It might be a game changer if it ever makes it off the drawing board. There is no mention of the required amount of power to actually store 40KWh of energy. Electrolysing water to make hydrogen is highly inefficient. It then needs to be pumped up to 35bar to get it into the hydride. Going back the other way it needs to be heated to get it out of the hydride, then run through fuel cells. None of these steps is remotely energy efficient. It only pays off when you have masses of “free” energy and no way to use it.

Nice website. Lots of hype, zero facts.

Love the concept. the Storage of hydrogen as a solid is sort of a Holy grail. Its is all about ROI and proof.


A good resource on all research and projects under construction via our great CSIRO The Lessons Learn Page (https://research.csiro.au/hyresource/lessons-learnt/)is great in my view. Chasing dreams rather than chasing science is costly.

I brought some NIKOLA shares- Dropped very quickly with out loosing my pants thankfully) Hyped can be dangerous
