Interested on any similar experiences and possible fixes for the following problem ('99 Xtreme):
Travelling uphill in high third or fourth (city driving), if I need to drop it back a cog, occasionally I find that once I've changed down then the engine just seems to die. No amount of accelerator gets any response in this situation. Find myself either having to change right back to first or stop and do a hillstart. Doesn't happen all the time, and mostly happens at lowish revs.
The ECU is chipped - maybe just needs a tweak?
Cheers

See the thread on bio fuel... would you have that in the tank?

Was it doing it before your chip and what kind of chip is it? Mine was chipped and from that point on, I have had issues. Most things seem to be back to normal - power etc but I still have a few gremlins in the system that I'm certain relate back to the programming of the ECU.
Mine sometimes, misses, sometimes is flat, throttle response is occasionally flat and over revs etc etc etc.
All the help I can be i'm afraid, Mick

Had exactly the same problem.
It sounds like it is overboosting and going into limp mode.
If this is the case it will be logging errors in the ECU. Get it put onto a testbook and see what has been logged.
The other way to check if its overboosting and going into limp is to stop, turn the engine off (let ECU reset itself) and then start off again. If it does it again, that is what it is.
Cure: wind back the turbo or you may have a dicky sensor (MAF, Crank angle, etc)
Hope this helps.

Yep, only does it with the clutch switch connected. Disconnect the sucker and try again. You won't believe the difference.
