G’day all,

Last week the LR dealer called me in relation to our Defender order (placed in August) to confirm prices and specs for the 2021 P300. By way of background, I ordered the D240 with a few extras. About a month ago, the dealer advised that the D240 was no longer an option and would be replaced with the P300 (a non-hybrid engine).

The dealer has now come back with prices and a couple of additional details. Basically, there is no price difference compared with the D240, steel wheels are standard for the P300(!) and now driver assist (collision avoidance, lane keeper, etc) is standard rather than an extra.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with the outcome. No diesel associated issues, same price, but more power.

Thoughts?

I very nearly followed a similar path, but in the end I found a D240 First Edition with the essential options I wanted. It came down to range... similar sized fuel tanks, and the diesel drains it less quickly than the petrol. Also I know it's easier to obtain diesel in out-of-the-way places, and easier to handle if you want to carry extra.

Hoping for delivery within about three weeks.
