Hello All,

Just wondering if there is a technique to decipher the VIN on the Defender 110?

I have a January 1993 manufactured 110 with the VIN: SALLDHAF7KA926415.

Are there any links in the 110 Defender between specific years of manufacture and VINs with Land Rover making changes to major parts. For example, something similar to the relationship between "Prefixes" and Series Land Rovers when it comes to ordering gearbox and engine parts? Where the incorrect Prefix in a Series Land Rover means the part you just paid for does not fit.

Kind regards
Lionel

Try this link Lionel

Vin Decoder - Find Land Rover parts at LR Workshop (https://www.lrworkshop.com/vin-decoder)

Not sure if you will find the detail you are looking for though.. generally they don’t even have the colour.

Cheers - Simon
