First real snow a few days ago in Colorado. The perentie seemed to enjoy the 8 or so inches.
Soooo, coolant, etc. Never owned a diesel before and wondering if I should change whats in the truck? Also thinking of a heater but may just go with a stick on type or a magnetic version.
Realize you may not have temps dip into the -7 centigrade as we do here. Thanks!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201030/0608278b161682ef9ca13d581ead9d05.jpg

A good battery and make sure all battery wires and connections are solid. Make sure the glow plugs are all working and plan for long glow periods the colder it gets. These engines do not like starting when really cold and I would not plan trying below -10 C unless you can run an engine heater. A Webasto coolant heater is the best option if you really want to use it all winter.

@red90 thanks for the input. Will probably replace glow plugs and look into the heater type.
Appreciate it.
We get some cold, but then into the 40-50°F most of winter. Lots of sun which helps.

-7 isnt that uncommon in some parts of Australia on frosty mornings, but usually without the snow ( and warming up to positive figures later in the morning). The coldest I can remember is waking up in Orange NSW one morning with some guests from the coast and watching the look on their faces when the radio announcer said it was -12 outside [biggrin]
