What may be Australia's oldest truck — and original outback road train — has been rescued from a rusty ghost-town grave and restored to a shiny new role as prize exhibit at a fascinating road transport museum in South Australia's mid north.
The 1908 Daimler Renard has survived a lightning strike and years abandoned in the middle of nowhere to become the centrepiece of a tribute to the historic machines that "opened up rural communities".
(The photo inside the museum appears to show a "Knocker Commer" engine on display)
