Probably not too difficult. But, I imagine legally you would be in a heap of trouble.

Don't know who did it or where they got the parts but mine has a foot pedal hand brake.

Yes it was the Reedex web link that I used. Took about 2.5 hours with my 4 year old assistant helping. Probably about 2 hours work by myself. Did not have to change the cable, or anything, and used a proper handbrake, so should be legal.
Good luck,
Ken

Maybe a conversion specialist that does stuff for the handicapped could advise?

Should be perfectly workable and safe, but I doubt it is legal without engineering certification. But on the other hand it is extremely unlikely anyone would ever pick it up as not being just another Landrover variation - how many police, RTA or insurance people have any sort of competence with Landrovers?.

Iy going to that trouble I would love the motorbike control stork:cool: . My mums P76 was very intimidating sitting at the lights reving away until she released the brake. Thing would just take off. Very easy to rev it with your hand just resting on the throttle.

Well, I liked the idea so much that I have just purchased a Rangie handbrake as pictured ($65 from British Offroad), and it will be fitted this weekend.

That rangie park brake conversion looks like the go, much better location.
Ed, how well does the foot one work? Does it get in the way? Matt

No it doesn't get in the way. Just wish it would work properly. It's still full of oil so will hold on gentle slopes but thgats it. Passed rego somehow:eek:

My D130 has the handbrake on the passenger side. Only bugger for me is the reach on hill starts. Doesn't look like a difficult mod since there's already a hole for it to go in.
I don't know about legality, I don't have any of htat for it.
Doubt that anyone would notice except a Defender specialist.
Cheers,
Simon
