A defer was written off last night when they got caught by the incoming tide at Red Head beach early this morning.
Apparently they were caught out as a giant wave came barrelling into them as they were on the edge of the water
and they got stuck.

The defer is a write off.
It could be on nine news Newcastle tonite.

Sorry no pics

The news on channel 7 kept calling it a Jeep! Not sure if that's a good thing or not.

I don’t know that location personally but I’d never drive on a beach with a slope like that....
Everything about the surroundings screams soft sand.....
That needed a strong winch and anchored cars....... ahh hindsight.....

Nine Mile Beach is all very soft sand and when the sea has been very rough (as it was for a week before hand) the surf side of the beach gets very cut out - hence the steepness down near the surf - you would normally drive up where the recovery vehicles were in those conditions.
