Found these two plastic items floating about in wheel well on L322 diesel.
Can aybody tell me what their purpose is? Much mystified.

Misfuel device for resetting fuel filler if wrong nozzle/fuel[petrol] has been used.

That borders on the unbelievable, that they have to plan for such contingencies as getting wrong nozzle stuck in filler.

Not stuck accidentally but when the wrong fuel is used. It’s a very common problem. There are heaps of people including some on here that have put petrol in their diesel and vice versa. The filler closes to not allow flow of the fuel - those little do dads reset the closed flap.

Even when tripped the vehicle can still be filled,slowly.

Mine tripped using a funnel to fill the tank from a jerry can.

well previous owner must have lost mine.

Probably chucked it as did not know what it was for

Went looking for mine and found it behind the spare tyre

Aaarrhh, that makes some sense, as every time we had metro health workers come to visit the far Kimberleys, they inevitably filled the diesel vehicles with petrol.
Still amazed that Rover had the foresight to have such an item in the kit.
