View Full Version : Spare vacuum line?

Any V8 110 owners know where this vacuum line is meant to end up?

I was doing a quick check over the old girl before we do our annual trek down south to catch (hopefully) some marron, when I found the other end hiding behind the head on the drivers side
I sent an hour or so looking for the receptacle for the hose end without any luck

It was late at night and found a few sticks (more like a small tree) hiding back there that had to be removed
I just went out for another look but with the temp up around the 40 degrees it might have to wait till tomorrow morning
Looked at my other 110 but it was blocked off

Any ideas to lead me back onto the garden path (even in a round about way) would be appreciated

Have you tried vacuum advance on distributor ( Im only guessing) . I would be more concerned by the drops of coolant.

Not the ignition advance vacuum line
It seemed to go down behind the drivers side head
Coolant drops from a leak (now repaired) from a gasket out of view

Didn’t get a chance to look this morning as me and the boys went for a fish and spent the night at the farm

Next guess lt85 does it have a vacuum operated diff lock on transfer case ? for when you select 4wd?

I was thinking the same thing that’s why I spent an hour trying to find another end (amongst pull the tree out)

Have used diff lock yesterday arvo
Up and down the dunes from the river
Gravel roads to and from the farm I always lock up the centre diff (helps the tyres “bite” when hitting the corners at 120)
Took a little bit longer to disengage than usual but all good by the time I hit the bitumen
Maybe I’ll tip the cubby box and the plate between the seats and have a good look

Whilst “holidaying” (and doing some oil top ups on the 110) I found the fitting for the vacuum line, when the missus complained the air was too hot blowing on her “knees”, I realised the push button air diversion switches weren’t working
When the sticks (small tree) found its way into the engine bay it must have gotten caught on the vacuum line and pulled it through the firewall
Now what else needs attention when I’ve got the dash pulled apart[emoji12]

Well done for finding the problem and for actually telling every one what the issue was. To many posts unfortunately ask the question and never bother informing posters offering advice what the issue was. Thank you
