Good evening,
A question for my Dad who owns a Perentie GS. He is currently running 235 85 R16's on the original army rims WITHOUT tubes, but he is worried about not having a safety bead, so he is looking at purchasing a set of D1 rims instead. I have these rims and 235's on my 110 county and the tyres rub the rear spring mount. The Perentie has that added bit of flat bar welded to the top of the mount & we are thinking it may cut into the tyre? Can anybody advise if this happens please? (We don't have a chance to try my rims on my Dad's vehicle).
Thank you, Edward🙂

Dunno about D1 rims but I've seen several Perenties running alloys at KLR Automotive. Try ringing them.

D1 rims and 245/75/16’s rub at max articulation on the Perentie 4x4 rear IME
Slight but definitely touch

And they definitely rub on a D1 - my 235s always rubbed at extreme steering angles and articulation.
