Hi all,
Twice now whilst driving my RRS I have experienced loss of braking, the pedal goes hard & it doesn’t want to pull up, once after approx 10 minutes & 30 minutes driving. I drive off & reapply the brakes & they are fine. Any idea?
TIA, Jenny.

Check if the brake system recall has been carried out and carried out properly. The vacuum servo assembly fills with engine oil and eventually destroys the diaphragm
Land Rover—Discovery 3 TDV6 and Range Rover Sport TDV6 diesel vehicles (this recall has been extended please see PRA 2010/11848) | Product Safety Australia (https://www.productsafety.gov.au/recall/land-rover-discovery-3-tdv6-and-range-rover-sport-tdv6-diesel-vehicles-this-recall-has-been-extended-please-see-pra-2010-11848)

If you disconnect the vacuum tube close to the servo and find traces of oil, then check for oil in the servo.

Even though my 2006 RRS had the recall done, it wasnt repaired correctly and I needed to replace the complete servo and the NRT valve. Mine showed similar faults as yours

Thanks. My partner was aware of the recall, but had a look & it said RRS built after May 2007? I wonder if they will still do the recall if it is outstanding, will call Land Rover on Wed 👍.
