I lifted this from this mornings newspaper.......must admit I'm not sure it is true........some things don't add up.

.................. It took 6 months to plan-the dream fishing trip.
The boys behind it, a bunch of Piscean punters from the Yanchep Inn, left in high spirits, destination Exmouth.
Then their Toyota Landcruiser did a fan belt. It was belting rain as repairs were undertaken. Then it happened again. In all, they went through 3 fan belts.
At Canarvon they noticed that the boat trailer was askew.
On closer inspection it was found it had split in half. A welder said to drop the boat at the marina and he’d repair it.
But our heroes discovered the only thing holding the trailer together were 2 bolts in the hull of the boat itself.
With the trailer welded, they attempted to load the boat. But the welding had realigned the trailer and none of the rollers fitted. Another welder fixed that glitch. However, when the boat was finally winched on it was found that the mudguards were too high.
They were removed.
When the jaded expedition finally got to to its campsite it was raining.
And it continued for 5 days.
Their tents were soon surrounded by several centimeters of water. The boat was yet to be launched in the pursuit of the perfect catch.
When the rain abated the craft slipped smoothly into the swell.
Being safety conscious at sea, the lads decided to test the bilge pump. To start with it was fine. Then something got into the system and burnt it out.
They had the pump replaced, but couldn’t get out to fish for another 2 days because of the wind.
Finally. The Yanchep boys got a couple of days close in fishing.
They caught a considerable amount of squid. And then it was time to come home. There was an air of relief.
But the fates were still on their case. The car overheated.
They stopped further on to fuel up.
The attendant thoughtfully started filling the diesel powered Landcruiser with unleaded petrol.
But the piscatorial Gods had not finished playing with this battered crew for their sport.
About 20 Km from Yanchep, in sight of the home fires, a kangaroo jumped across the road, hit the vehicle and left its owner with $5000 worth of damage.
The roo, like the dream fishing trip, was a big one, and it also got away...............................
