Been playing the 'ol "rev the v8 in the shed and annoy the neighbours" tonight watching the rediculous amounts of fuel disappearing down the throats of the carbies:p in the rangie and noticed that the piston in one of the carbies not moving up and down...buggered diaphragm is my thought
Pretty straight forward job is it? ...doesnt look too complex;)

Yep, pretty straightforward unless you are putting in a full kit requiring removal of the carb.

If doing a full overhaul, one of the carbs (umm, LHS if I recall correctly) will need a special cut down and bent spanner to remove one of the retaining nuts.

I borrowed one from the local LR specialist and made a copy.

You do not have to remove the carb to replace the diaphragm. There are 4 screws only to undo. Its pretty hard to stuff up as there are locating tabs but make sure you replace the diaphragm in the same orientation as the old one.
You will be surprised how well it goes on two carbs.
