A banned driver in a stolen car who drove into a police officer on his motorbike has been detained for three years at a young offender's institute.
PC Steve Lovering was deliberately hit by Callum Fellows in Oldbury, West Midlands, after recognising him as a car crime suspect, police said.

Very calm and polite for someone that's just had that happen to them. Good on the public being so concerned and coming to his aid so quickly as well.

Motorcycle cops in Queensland were often killed by motorists when I was young. I believe it got so bad that they were relegated to convoy/motorcade duties for some time.

I recall being pulled over by a motorcycle cop who unbelievably let me off for undue noise as I had extra mufflers in the boot. ( my A95 had headers stock to which I added twin 2inch pipes)

As it later turned out he was my brother's across the road neighbour and maybe recognised the car.

He was killed by a semi trailer braking suddenly in front of him about a year later.
