My Defender 130 aircon was doing the old work sometimes and other times not. Went into the battery box and gave the black box to the left of the relays a wiggle and it started again. I then observed that the earth wire was loose and had burnt the top of the white plug. Research failed to locate a fix and or a replacement with words like no longer available used . So challenge accepted. First of removed from bracket on battery box which allows room to turn said box over. It should be noted that at this stage you cant unplug it. On the reverse side of the box near to top is a simple insert screwdriver slot to pop open box. When this is done you can then move the plug . The plug, (White) I turned it over and with a small screw drive pushed on the back of the loose pin and it popped out no issue. Gave it a good clean up spread it a bit and slipped it back in. Nice and ight. Gave the pins on the circuit board a gentle clean. Reassembled refitted and no more loose pins or wires , runs fine. I have no idea what the box does ( electricity / electronics black magic to me) . Of note on the bottom of the box there is an adjustment , not sure if its a relay timer or thermostat. i marked this and moved it towards the C setting, will see what happens seems to be running fine . Hope this helps someone. Happy for someone to provide feed back.
