Riding home tonight from Sydney to my home at Mona Vale ( on My 900 Hornet) I came up beside an 88? ( Low fuel door) Olive green metallic Range Rover towing a really crap trailer at Narrabeen. It had one of those new AB??BS or whatever NSW plates so was probably a recent state import.

Anyway as I rode along I could hear this really loud thump thump thump. It was obvious his right front tyre had delaminated and was metres away from tread separation. The person driving must have cloth ears.

So if you are a member of this forum Mr olive green metallic Range Rover, the bloody noise is your right front tyre falling apart.
FIX IT .

Phil, probably a good vehicle to pass and keep behind you! A smack in the chops with a hunk of radial certainly would not be Monty Python-esque.

But an important observation - does everyone do a first parade service? If they did, these sorts of faults would not go unnoticed.

I assume the term " first parade service" is what I would refer to as a daily inspection, and with that assumption, the answer has to be clearly NO. Many, perhaps most, people do no inspection at all except for scheduled services or when there is clearly something wrong (whether it is a Landrover or any other car). Others, including myself, give the car a general look over including fluids every few days or if it has been standing for a few days. A very few people religiously inspect the vehicle before the first use of the day (I used to be like that, but I admit to slipping in my old age).
