Well we are through to the final 16, after some dodgy ref calls and some crap goal keeping on our behalf by Kalak we are through with a 2 all draw. A bloody awsome match if i do say so myself. Matt

Not really into soccer but I did get up at 5.00am to watch this match.

Is the umpiring always that bad? There seemed to be some shocking decisions and some badly missed ones for both sides. And whats the go with not going off when you get a red card? The Croatian guy just kept playing then earnt a 3rd yellow card!! Wonder what would have happened if Croatia had of won and he was still on the field?

Australia played far better, but at the end of the day that counts for squat with the scoreline. Good to see Harry finally fire in an international.
The Ref's should be drawn and quartered for their performances in the last few matches.

Yeah the ref wasnt to crash hot, first he missed the rugby style tackle on Viduka in the first half and then missed the blatant hand ball in the second half. The end result was good and i'm glad they didnt miss out on a final 16 spot because a ref had no idea. Matt

Soccer is going to hot up in Australia over the next 4 year, and i was reading in the paper that there is a bit of a tussle between a few big names in the coach world as to who will replace the russia bound Hiddink. Great game and Australia played far better. Damn ref again. FIFA really need to take a long hard look at the refs they are using.
But also, go down like that in front of goal, if the ref does not have agood view it is always going to be a penalty shot. Saw it enough as a goalie.
3 seconds was all that was needed. Defence and mid field was fantastic. Attack led a little to be desired, if no one in the square a shot needs to be taken, only takes a bad defence to let one in. Italy were playing that bit right.
Any way well done to the lad's. Best result for Australia. A little page in Aussie Soccer History written.

I feel the Italians were the better team

To only have 10 players and defend the way they did, they
left very few oppurtunities for the Socceroos

If we were up to their level we would of at least had a goal or
two on the board and won the game
