Hey guys. Anyone ever had a fuel leak from the rear left of the car while parked on a very slight angle?
Only had the car (2004 v8 auto) for 4 days and have never noticed it before today. I caught up with some family for a beer and a counter meal and car was parked on a slight angle both back and left (so fuel tank was down hill and leaning left). Went to leave and there was a puddle of petrol underneath the left rear. Car was filled up prior to parking also. Can't see anything leaking now that I'm home and parked on level ground again.
Anyone ever come across this? Or any clues on where to start?
Cheers everyone

Fuel pipes above the tank rub through on the diesel, don’t know about petrol.
Torch and mirror,to have a good look above the tank is the go.

Either the fuel pipes or possibly just the pump seal. You can get to it from the inside by pulling the carpet up in the back although you may need to undo the tank mounts and let it drop down a bit to see the fuel lines.

Thanks guys! I'll have a look first chance i get. I guess with the 19l per 100km it won't take long to empty the tank if i need to drop it [emoji1787]

Hi Shayne,
I'm getting the same issue . Did you find the cause?
Dropping the tank didn't give me any good hints.
Cheers

CheersHi mate
To be honest I haven't even looked at it.
I believe it only happened when I completely filled the tank right up to the filler cap.
I stop filling when the nozzle clicks off and it hasn't done it since.
One day when I've got time I'll have a good look at it

I found the cause. It was a leaking fuel vent . One of the penetrations into the tank to let air out when filling leaked like a sieve when full. Tried to seal it but in the end just picked up another tank.
