Finding the signal for high beam would be an interesting challenge. I'm lucky that my RRS has a +12V signal for the shutter on the Xenons. Finding a suitable canbus adapter may be an interesting challenge ( until someone smarter than me solves it)

The vendor helpfully will sell you a CAN interface...

The wiring schematic shows a high beam signal and a low beam signal at each light directly from the BCM-GWM so shouldn't be too difficult, eg the left high/main beam is brown with white.

Not that complex actually.
Simple signal.

PowerfulUK has actually mapped these out. There is a basic 12V signal. No canbus involved

It’s a bit more complicated if you have the matrix LED lights. Those go into “high beam” when there’s no street lights and they stay on when other cars are coming at you – though they do turn off the individual LEDs that point in the direction of those drivers. And all of that is the default Auto behaviour that engages every time you turn on the car.

That all means the spotties would come on automatically when you’re on a road with no street lights and wouldn’t turn off without manual intervention. I think I’d be looking to install a master switch in the cabin so that the spots only came on in the times I really want to be dealing with them.

Hi
Just wondering if you could turn matrix lights off in settings

I have matrix LED's on my L494 (will be functionally the same as the L663). I have a Laser Lamps lightbar and the CAN interface and I can confirm that it all works perfectly with the matrix LED's...
When the lights are in Auto mode they automatically activate the auto high beam and matrix functionality without activating the driving lights. When you want the driving lights to come on, you push the stalk forward and "hey presto" high beam and driving lights on!

Is this a DIY kit or vendor install

Of course, it's all on the web even YT install videos.
Elegant install with no wire cutting involved if you want to go that way

Can anyone advise an accessible spot to tap into the appropriate canbus on the L494/L405, possibly at the back of the diagnostic socket?
