Eas question

I was enjoying a run of no eas troubles that ended a few days ago and this time I'm stumped.
The compressor runs and is pushing air, I have just resleeved it regardless. It wasn't dropping overnight and was quick to change height. Now it won't raise.
Changed the fuse and the driver pack, with the pressure switch. Still no rising.
No errors on RWS solutions software.
Access light on and normal height flashing.
But no rise.
Can't find any leaks.

I keep thinking I heard a "pop" sound but at the time thought it was a stone slipping out the side of a tyre.

Anyone had experience with the control unit under the seat failing?

Just checking you ran the engine with a door open until the compressor cuts off?
That way you know the tank is full pressure before you try and raise the vehicle.
Otherwise it will take a very long time to rise.

Also check the EAS relay under the seat is properly plugged in, just incase it got disturbed. You can also swap those for a yellow relay to test it is working.
I leave a yellow relay in mine to prevent the vehile auto levelling, but you do need to have the proper EAS relay in to do diagnostics.

If the RWS diagnostic did not show any faults and the system was operating as it should before hand, it sounds like one of the pressure lines may have popped out allowing pressure to escape.

I had a similar thing happen once, it turned out to be the o ring in the compressor head under the reed valve was broken, so even though the compressor was operating as it should, it was unable to pressurise the system, as air was escaping instead of filling the air tank.
If you have just fitted new o rings there when you re sleeved the compressor, something could have become unseated.

Thank you for posting this reply to Saulman's question. This sounds exactly like the problem I have with my EAS. I had overhauled the valve block and I still had problems with the EAS. But with all the other things I was working on I had put the EAS in the too hard basket and concentrated on the other problems. Now I have fixed most other problems it is now time to fix the EAS. And after reading your post I believe it is the O ring under the discharge reed valve in the compressor.

I have tried 3 compressors, 2 rebuilt and a brand new Dunlop unit. I'm sure its not that.

How is your diaphragm looking? Try taking off the exhaust silencer (small felt cylinder that screws into the valve block) Is air getting pushed out of this outlet? If so this will need replacement.

Haven't got to my original valve block yet. But I'm picking this is why I replaced my 2nd valve block, "there's ya problem" a contamination issue.
Not my rebuild!!, a spare bought a few months ago.
Now I've got one I'm sure is good , I can keep chasing my Eas failure.
Oh and I've found a split in the blue hose on the compressor, that ain't helping either.
Rosie's issues are apparently a multitude of issues not one single problem.

So.
I'm confident I'm winning on this.
A systematic approach, clear head and after a nice lie down and a good cry, I still can't say "Ahah! That's the culprit.
Changing relays, fuses. Checking bad earths, spit hoses, crap inside valve block, bad cylinder liners in compressor (not machined properly) bad connections, bent pins etc etc blah blah...
I have had a month of full EAS functions. Yey!

A combination of issues gave inconsistent results and feedback resulting in me being a whole lot wiser and older.

Thanks to members tips and suggestions and good ol' start at the beginning and check everything twice.
