Hi all

Am I missing something? I searched the forum last night and couldn't dig anything up on this. Under my seat is a large storage box however my seats are bolted in. The manual states that they should be clipped but this possibly is an Australian Standard thing and had to be changed for our market. I unbolted from the back wall of the cab thinking that the backrest would fold forward, and then the base. This did not work however so this morning I unbolted just the base/floor. This does give me access however you could hardly call it practical as you have to hold the seats in the air whilst trying to unlcip the box, then try to load it. Am I supposed to take the enitre seat out for access (maybe this is for storage of items that a seldomly required/emergency only)? Has anyone tried somethning different (perhaps I'm doing this all wrong)?

On my 98 130 the rear seat, a 3/4 and single are held back by a leather strap (broken) they don't come forward when braking et. The top folds forward then the base pivots forward on the mounting brackets. Perhaps someone has Gorilla fisted the mounting pivots. To get them fully out of the way the front seats in my case have to be moved forward.

My '97 130 had the seat back bolted to the back wall when I got it. I heard it was an ADR requirement. I've seen some modified with this type of catch (http://https://www.uesint.com/product/703rl-pack-contains-703rl-x-1-41z-x-1/)
Unbolted, mine will also tumble forward

Mines bolted in place on bottom and rear, IIRC.

Thanks guys, if I unbolt the seats on the back of the cab they move forward a little but they do not tumble forward to give access. I cannot figure out why but I think I will have a closer look. It would make sense to me if that was how it worked.

I replaced the bolts / nuts with a single wing nut for each seat back so I can access behind the seats. I cant remember if they then tumble.

Mine both tumble (300tdi and td5) - suspect yours just a bit seized up at the brackets on the box under seat.

had a look at my seat today
the do tumble forward as others have said.
I replaced one of the bolts with a longer bolt (access by undoing velcro strip) and used a wing nut to hold the seat back in place
probably not legal
cheers

Thanks for the responses guys - I did manage to get the seats to come forward. I couldn't for the life of me think why it was stuck but I was looking at the hinges and didn't think to slip the seat belt base from out between the rear and the base [bigwhistle]. I removed the two bolts holding each of the 60 & the 40 seats, welded a wing nut to two bolts and are now holding the seats in with one bolt/wing nut per side. This is a much more convenient setup and makes the seat box semi-convenient.
