Engine Oil Flushing-- Worth it or not?

I have been wondering about the value, if any, of flushing the engine with a proprietary engine flush chemical and associated procedure.
Does anyone have any experience using an engine flush? Does it work? Does it make a difference?
My RRS TDV8 has 147,000km, has oil changes at no more than 10,000km intervals.

Gunna depend on the state of the engine. I remember my sister had an AlfaSud Sprint that hadn't had a change in ages. I drained it, refilled it with pure diesel and idled it for five minutes. The crap that came out after that was biblical. But 147,000 with 10K intervals? I wouldn't unless you think it's got some build up of sludge. I reckon the risks outweigh the potential benefits. But that's just me.

I've got a Fiat tractor with 5800 hours on it and put a CEM engine flush through it last time. Previously after idling for five minutes the new oil was as black as the old. After changing the oil and putting the flush in, running for half an hour, dropping that oil and replacing the filters the oil is significantly cleaner even after a few hours work. Seems to idle better and run a little cooler under load as well.
I'm planning on doing the same with SWMBOs newly acquired J10 with a Nissan SD33 motor in it. I did the initial oil change the other day and while it wasn't sludge it was pretty thick and black. I would have done the flush too but the leftover flushing oil from the tractor must be out at the farm[bighmmm]
Bearing in mind both of these engines have probably never been flushed out before I can see a benefit, I'm less sure about doing it every oil change.
My BF gas ute (now sold) had developed a noisy tappet when cold. Online research pointed at it possibly being a feature of the Castrol oil I had been using. A flush with Repco engine flush and changing to Penrite oil cured it.

Not on a modem common rail engine that's only ever seen ULSD fuel and regular oil changes.

We did the Jeep on the weekend, the fresh oil that we put in the other day was black already so we added the flushing concentrate and fast idled for 30 mins, dropped the oil and filter and replaced the oil. Nice and clean now, it's hard to see how much is on the dipstick. I don't think I'd bother on a modern engine either BTW.

I use an oil flush every change on my 2008 L322 tdv8. Previously the oil would be black within 20km of a change. Now the oil stays relatively clear.

One theory about tdv8 turbo failure is oil starvation to the turbo, due to blocked oil feed pipes from particle build up. This is the main reason I use a flush.

My tdv8 has clocked up about 300k km, and it runs beautifully quiet and smooth. I bought it after it had done 230k km.

I use both CEM and Liqui Moly brands.

Just my experience for what it’s worth.
