Hi everyone
Changing the air filter today on the v8 and decided to clean the MAF sensor while i was there. Used crc MAF sensor cleaner.
Now the car won't idle and sounds like its dropped a cylinder?
Can someone here shed some light on this?
Cheers everyone

So car seems to idle and rev ok with the MAF sensor plug disconnected. Dies moments after i reconnect it.
Guess I'm buying a new sensor [emoji849]

I'm not V8 but your symptom is pretty much on par with a death MAF on a Td5. With a Td5 when you plug in a dead MAF sensor, it will drive like a snail, on the other hand it will rocket without a MAF sensor on (but likely high tempt on somewhere).
P/S: I might be a bit too high on the word "rocket" [biggrin]

All sorted. Brand new bosch maf sensor unit from Rovacraft has me back on the road!
Honestly the first time in my life I've encountered a maf sensor failure from cleaning. Oh well, **** happens i guess [emoji1745]

Honestly though, still can't believe the amount of aftermarket support available for these cars. It's absolutely fantastic. Was able to get a brand new maf sensor for $200ish on a Saturday morning half hour drive from home. Gotta love it
