Hi All,
Was hoping to get a bit of guidance from the AULRO community on what I should do.
As a little background info: I have a MY2008 D3 TDv6 which has a blown motor as a result of the oil pump pulley breaking off ( I purchased the vehicle in this condition as bit of a project :eek2:). I have also now got a replacement motor in the form of a 2015 Territory engine with 141k km. Since the engine is out of the vehicle now, access is ideal for getting to the rear crank seal.
What I would like to know is, should I go ahead and change the rear crank seal even though it is not showing any signs of leaks? My understanding is that if I go down this route then I would also need to acquire some tools to fit the crank sensor, which looks like it would end up costing more than the part itself.
I'm not really sure how prone to leaking the rear seals are as I couldn't find much info online, so any feedback or advice on what I should do is greatly appreciated. Cheers.
