Hi All,

Sorry if this has already been posted elsewhere. I received an e-mail from Land Rover today...

Land Rovers are built for adventure, with the safety and reliability to go further. That’s why we’re confident to offer you the assurance of our complimentary 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty, now standard across all new models purchased from April 1st 2021.

We’ll repair and replace any unforeseen manufacturing issues for the life of the warranty, at no charge. This is complimented with the inclusion of a five year roadside plan.

This warranty is our pledge to you that your Land Rover will continue to go above and beyond, no matter where your adventures take you.

While it doesn't match Kia or Hyundai (being 7 years) - it is better than BMW & Audi (3 years)...

Lucky I haven't ordered anything just yet.. [thumbsupbig]

Cheers,
GG.

Have you got a source for that statement? What with it being the first day of the second quarter. [bigwhistle][bigwhistle]

I got it as well,so probably correct, they have succumbed to industry pressure.

Still no where near many others, but better than they had.

On another note,i see quite a few new Defenders around, probably at least one a day, more than D5's.

Along with Mercedes, better than any other premium brand though.

VW have 5yr as well, but I suppose not really a premium brand.

The Europeans have dragged the chain with warranties on their vehicles for decades.

Even Porsche still has 3 yr.

5 on VW, 3 on Audi, a VW product. Go figure.

And this from Google,

"Volkswagen currently holds a majority share in Audi, Scania and Porsche, and also wholly owns Skoda Auto, Lamborghini, and Ducati. Clearly, the Volkswagen Group chooses its car brands wisely – they boast ownership of some of the best and most recognised car brands in the world."

A huge organisation.

On their website: Land Rover(R) Warranty - Land Rover(R) Australia (https://www.landrover.com.au/ownership/warranty/index.html)

Prior to 1 April, JLR was offering 5 years warranty and free servicing for vehicles purchased and delivered in the period Jan - March 2021.

I was thinking the same.

It's been all over the press, prior to 01/04/2021, so I seriously doubt that. JLR has bitten the Mercedes bullet. Maybe this will make them lift their game in the qualcon area.

Does this mean that LR have more confidence in their vehicle quality?

No, it means they have to fob their customers off longer. [tonguewink]

Does this mean that LR have more confidence in their vehicle quality?

No,but after 70+ years one has to look at the positives...[bighmmm]

All that has happened is they have eventually succumbed to market pressure.

Not really news as I got this 3 years ago on the D5. All you had to ask....well...insist.

Five years full manufacturers warranty?

Or 3, plus 2 with a third party, which is what many new Defender buyers negotiated as well.

Still only 3 years in U.K.

At least is 3 years manufacturer warranty not the old 2 year manufacturer and 12 months insurance with reduced cover
