Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have attached a picture of a bull bar that is on offer from Ultimate 4x4 at Minto, for pre order about 5 at a time I'm lead to believe that they meet all Australian specs and standards as appointed by ADRs ,

I have no affiliation with Ultimate 4x4 nor am I receiving any gratuities from the company for this post or any subsequent sales. I am lead to believe that the cost is between $1100 - $1200, fitting of course will be extra and colour coding is available at a price, contact Nicole on 0497 975 999. Email info@ultimate4x4.com.au

Happy Easter to all.

Cheers

I'm interested as long as there is provision for all the sensors etc on the 2010-2012 variants. Very promising; I will give them a call next week.

I'm glad that things are moving along for you, Nicole is easy to talk to and VERY helpful. I have spoken to my insurance company and they are not fussed that it is not compliant just that the vehicle has protection from front damage.

So it is not compliant afterall.

Looks good though. Not interested in having the weight of a winch up front. More interested in if the headlight washers and proximity sensors will be retained.

No. Was a general question to my insurance company when I was looking to build my own alloy bar.

Nice pickup and quick reaction[biggrin][biggrin][biggrin][biggrin][biggrin]

Insurance companies may not have an issue but rego authorities will if it is not compliant - then when insurance companies find out it is an illegal mod they will change their mind.

Just depends on the sort of risks you’re willing to take. I’ve said it before but there’s plenty on this forum that do illegal mods to their vehicles all the time and are happy to do so. Larger tyres, lifts, overloading is all common on many members vehicles here but for some reason it’s bullbars that seem to get the most scrutiny.

Personally I am happy enough to keep my vehicles legal - which has meant Engineering more than once to keep them that way, but again a personal choice on how you perceive and take on risk.

I don't think people really think this through. It's not just the damage to the modified car claim which has been refused by the insurance company but all damage claims relevant to the accident. Lawyers may become involved and sue for damages plus their costs. What about when the refused claim person goes to renew other insurance polices. Will the insurance companies balk at covering house, contents, other cars, work insurance etc or if willing to re-insure then increase the premiums.

There is this little question on insurance policy renewals - "Have you ever been refused insurance".......hmmmm.

Yes I completely agree - it is risk management and you do what you want - BUT you have to know the facts before you can make the decisions. With this bar some have previously indicated it was compliant and as a result some have expressed interest where now we learn it is not compliant.

How quickly the NAY SAYERS jump on the band wagon. I didn't say it was NOT compliant, but that doesn't stop some from twisting words around.

Make the call and talk to Nicole and square it for yourself
