I wish to put a USB socket in the place for the switch for the sunroof in my MY2012 Discovery Series 4. I do not have a sunroof. Has anybody done this? If so what is involved? The power source would need to be active only when the ignition is on.

Not particularly difficult. I put a CB up there in the map shelf. You run the wires across and down the driver's A pillar, preferably without breaking all the pins off the pillar trim:soapbox:. You can run to the cabin fuse box, but I went out through the grommet to the engine bay fuse box as access is easier for the elderly like me...
Decent USB sockets are a dime a dozen, they voltage correct themselves so it really is just a matter of doing a good job on cable routing and connections.

Good luck.
